THANK YOU!  The dance and music could not have been better.  You were amazing!  We are packing for the honeymoon while listening to The Shuk's CD.
Looking forward to see you again in Israel.

The Shuk were not only an energetic booster for Limmud FSU participants in Odessa, but managed to combine music and education, bringing the “taste” of Israel to the youths in the Diaspora.  They transformed the intellectual energies of Limmud in Odessa into a pulsating musical vibe.

They got hundreds of participants to get up and dance in a moment, and many of them sang alone in Hebrew even if they didn’t understand the words!

The Shuk started our wedding off on the right foot.  They orginized an amazing procession leading us and the entire crowd down to the chuppah (חופה). The lively atmosphere that they brought with them joined with our excitement, had everyone involved, dancing and smiling.

In preperation, we gave them broad guidlines of what we invisioned having at the wedding.  The Shuk turned it into exactly what we were looking for; bringing in the right choice of songs, producing all instruments possible and leading the band.

We were privileged to have The Shuk be a part of our incredible night!

Today’s most unsolved problems come from the question: how freely am I allowed to express myself? Being a second generation of Holocaust survivors, the fear tormented me between obligation to speak up in the name of vanished families, and the selfish need to forget and carry on with my life. If I speak, it can endanger the third generation. If I remain silent the evil can happen again. Limmud is a step forward: let’s learn and solve problems together. It is a comprehensive work. Closing section was your music.

Sitting in the last row, I was grabbed by your energy, by the energy of your artistry, skill and knowledge, by recognizable tradition of my ancestors. Elated by music I was instantaneously released of all fears, even of my old age. Singing and dancing I was purified and rejuvenate. I am grateful not only for your artistry, but most of all for your frankness. This can not be faked. You bonded us, picked the loose ends, and made us happy. Thanks!"

When we organized the Ann Arbor Community Bike Ride last November, we wanted to devote one night to Israeli Culture.
I was looking for a program that could combine a Jewish-Israeli theme, still allowing English speakers to take part.

Our evening with The Shuk was just what I was looking for, and the program was an outstanding success!  For two short hours, we were all ageless, and a group from all walks of life came together to create great music, inspiring, fun and moving.

Thank you guys for a great evening!

The Shuk is a vibrant group of energetic young musicians who love Jewish and Israeli music.  I have seen and heard them get the crowds dancing at weddings.

They are also very successful at giving groups of teens an educational seminar of different genres of Israel and Jewish music, during which they have the youth both singing and dancing their hearts out.

They are the BEST! - full of energy that gets out there to everyone. Even the more set-in- their ways in our community were impressed, not to mentions the younger set - teens and young parents. But most important was the feeling the members of our community that they are really 'doing prayer' and blending in with the service rather than just performing.  Spirituality is what they are about...that is what makes them different and it comes across!"

Thanks for making our experience in Israel exponentially more amazing.

During our stay in Jerusalem, we got to spend a free night out on Ben Yehuda Street where a bunch of us spontaneously broke out into a "Kum Kum Lei Lei" singing circle. The song, along with a long playlist of other great singles, ended up being a fantastic way for us to get closer to one another and enhance our time together around Israel and on our bus.

Thanks again for your incredible contribution to our trip!

There is no better way to educate and entertain people of ALL ages. The Shuk brings energy, talent, passion, and spirit to every concert and truly spreads their love for Jewish culture and music to each person who listens.

Mazal Tov to The Shuk and my hope is that they will continue to impact people all across the world for years to come.
