Born in cosmopolitan Brooklyn and raised between New York City and Israel, Yoni Avital grew up immersed in a vibrant blend of cultures. Now based in Haarlem, The Netherlands, Yoni serves as the driving force behind The Shuk, guiding the group to stages around the world while engaging audiences with his artistry as a performing artist and multi-instrumentalist.

As a cantor, vocalist, flutist, guitarist, and singer, Yoni’s diverse skill set has shaped The Shuk’s distinctive sound, allowing their music to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
